Kathleen Seccombe is a graduate journalism student at the University of California Berkeley where she is studying documentary filmmaking. Before starting journalism school she reported on politics, economics, and the environment for the award winning newspaper, the Monterey County Weekly and the Santa Cruz based Adventure Sports Journal. She produced these stories in a range of mediums including print, photography, and video.
In 2010 she played an integral part in the production of the documentary, To Budget, Borrow and Save, about a student-run microfinance organization at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. The film was the recipient of a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council.
Kathleen earned a degree in Politics from the University of California Santa Cruz. While she earned her undergraduate degree she interned for Congressman Sam Farr and worked in personal finance at the Santa Cruz Community Credit Union.
